Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve is a 1,500 acre park set at the top of Skyline Ridge that serves as a great launch point for hiking and mountain biking within the open space along Skyline Ridge. The main trail in the preserve is the Saratoga Gap Trail, which is part of the Bay Area Ridge Trail, and connects with trails leading to Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Castle Rock State Park, Long Ridge Open Space Preserve, Upper Stevens Creek County Park, Sanborn County Park, and beyond. Horseback riding is allowed within the park on the Saratoga Gap Trail, but otherwise is not popular in Saratoga Gap Open Space Preserve.
