Description

Los Trancos Open Space Preserve is a 247 acre park in the Santa Cruz Mountains that showcases the earthquake geology of the San Andreas Fault, the world's longest and most active fault, which cuts through the preserve. The park features hiking and equestrian trails across beautiful grass covered knolls and through oak covered forests, with beautiful views of the city below and the surrounding mountains. On a clear day, visitors can see the skyscrapers of San Francisco and Mount Diablo across the bay. Explorations can be extended by connecting with trails in Monte Bello Open Space Preserve just across Page Mill Road, or by hiking the Bay to Ridge Trail which cuts through the park and provides a route from the San Francisco Bay at Baylands Nature Preserve to Skyline Ridge.
