    Description

This 1,300 plus acre open space that climbs from Portola Valley to Skyline Ridge features open grassland ridges, forests of redwood, fir, and oak, and the distinct wind swept hilltop for which the park is named. Windy Hill Open Space Preserve offers over 12 miles of trails and is popular among hikers and joggers wishing to "summit" the 1,905 foot elevation Windy Hill, mountain bikers taking Spring Ridge Trail down to Portola Valley, and those looking for breathtaking views of the San Francisco Bay along Anniversay Trail paralleling Skyline Ridge. Dogs are allowed on-leash on many of the trails in the park, including those heading to the top of Windy Hill. Equestrian parking is available courtesy of Portola Valley at the entrance to the Spring Downs Equestrian Center at 725 Portola Road.
