    Description

Jay Trail Camp in Big Basin Redwoods State Park is the "luxury" trail camp for hikers and backpackers, with drinking water, bathrooms, and hot showers available at the campground. Situated only about a half mile from the park's headquarters, the campground offers 6 hike in only campsites and 2 bike in only campsites, each accommodating up to 6 people. Fires are not allowed in the hike in sites, but are allowed in the bike in sites where fire rings are provided. Reservations are required to camp, and can be made online up to 60 days in advance, or by phone for same day reservation requests. To make a reservation and view the backcountry camping rules for this camp, visit the Santa Cruz Mountain Backcountry Trail Camp website.
