    Description

Located in the heart of Butano State Park surrounded by a forest of second growth redwood trees, Butano Trail Camp offers 8 primitive backcountry campsites, each accommodating up to 6 people. Reservations are required to camp, and can be made online up to 60 days in advance. To make a reservation and view the backcountry camping rules for this camp, visit the Santa Cruz Mountain Backcountry Trail Camp website. Potable water is not available, so water must be packed in or filtered from a nearby creek (Little Butano Creek is the closest source, approximately half of a mile from the campground). Vault toilets and trash cans are available from May 1st to October 31st each year (otherwise it's pack-it-in, pack-it-out for all waste).
