Santa Teresa County Park is a diverse park in the Santa Teresa Hills about 10 miles from downtown San Jose, which features a number of recreational opportunities. Hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding on the 17 miles of unpaved trails are popular among visitors exploring the more than 1,600 acres of the park. Golfers can take a swing at the Santa Teresa Golf Course, operated by a concessionaire within the county park. Picnic areas, including a large reservable group picnic area, horseshoe pits, and a sand volleyball court area can also be found at the Pueblo Day Use Area off Bernal Road. An archery range, operated by a local archery club, is open to the public except on tournament days. The park is rich in ranching and farming history, which can be seen by visiting the Bernal-Gulnac-Joice Ranch Historic Area. Dogs are allowed on-leash in all areas of the park except the golf course and historic ranch area.
