    Description

At Greyhound Rock County Park & Beach a steep path leads from the large free parking area onto an impressive expanse of sandy beach. The beach gets its name from Greyhound Rock, a large rock formation just offshore that supposedly resembled a hound to the man who discovered this place, but now more or less looks like a grey whale surfacing on its migration. Fishing, picnicking, and just lounging on the sand are popular activities at this beach and at low tide it's possible to walk out onto the rock. At the bluffs edge within the parking area is a great vista point to get an amazing view of the rock and coastline.
