Description

Almaden Quicksilver County Park is a 4,163 acre park rich in natural diversity and provides visitors with a glimpse into California's mining history. At its peak the park was home to more than 1,800 miners and their families and now visitors can enjoy the land where over 135 years of mining activities occurred. Hikers, bikers, and horseback riders will enjoy the extensive trail system within the park, including over 37 miles of hiking trails, 30 miles of equestrian trails, and 16 miles of bike trails. Fishing at Guadalupe and Almaden Reservoirs is also a popular activity; however, fishing is catch and release only as elevated levels of mercury have been found in the fish in these reservoirs. Picnic tables are scattered throughout the park with picnic areas at the three main entrance parking lots. Dogs are allowed on leash throughout the entire park.
