One of the best preserved and presented dredges in the contiguous United States, the Yankee Fork Gold Dredge is a mammoth of a machine built in 1940 to dredge the Yankee Fork tributary of the Salmon River in the mountains of Central Idaho. Evidence of its operation can be seen along Yankee Fork Road in the form of piles of rocks and a shifted creek. Self-guided tours are offered daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
