Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort, nestled deep in an evergreen valley along the Sol Duc River in Olympic National Park, offers three mineral hot spring soaking pools and one freshwater pool. The spring water comes from rain and melting snow, which seeps through cracks in the sedimentary rocks where it mingles with gasses coming from cooling volcanic rocks. The mineralized spring waters then rise to the surface along a larger crack or fissure. Temperatures in the hot spring pools range from 99F to 104F and one of the pools is even wheelchair accessible. Visitors wishing to soak longer or more often can stay at the Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort or Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort Campground.
