    Description

The 1.5 mile long South Bank Trail meanders along the south bank of the Carmel River and features an easy stroll amid beautiful scenery. The paved path is open to dogs (on leash), walking, and biking, and is accessible for strollers or wheelchairs. The west end of the trail ends at the Front Ranch unit of Palo Carona Regional Park, with entrances nearby to the Rancho Canada unit. Due to limited space at the east trailhead on Rancho San Carlos Road, parking is by permit only; visitors needing to park can apply for the free permit from the Monterey Peninsula Regional Park District website here.
