Named for its natural rock arch sitting in the crashing waves, Natural Bridges State Beach in Santa Cruz, California offers a fantastic opportunity to play at the beach, view tidal pools and migrating whales, and observe roosting monarch butterflies in the Monarch Grove which is the only Natural Monarch Preserve in California. The park also has a number of picnic areas under the shade of trees, restrooms and showers to clean off after getting sandy on the beach, and a visitor center to learn about the history and nature of the park.

September 25, 2019 at 8:11 pmI love Natural Bridges. Have a lot of memories at this beach. My wife and I love to go check out the Monarch butterflies and are looking forward to bringing our 1.5 year old daughter who loves butterflies. We plan to go about mid November when there is an abundance of them but they stick around til about mid February.
