Straddling the ridge of the Santa Cruz Mountains between Watsonville and Gilroy with views of the Monterey Bay to the west and Coyote Valley to the east, Mt. Madonna County Park offers 4,605 acres of recreation enjoyment within a redwood forest. Hikers and horseback riders will enjoy the 14 mile trail system, and causal walkers will enjoy a stroll on the one mile self-guided nature trail that winds around the ruins of cattle baron Henry Miller's summer home. An archery range is open during park hours and is located a short walk down Ridge Trail from the visitor's center. A number of campgrounds for tent camping, RV camping, and group camping as well as yurt (tent cabin style) camping is also available for visitor's wishing to spend some extra time exploring the area.
