Morefield Campground is the only camping option within Mesa Verde National Park, but with 267 tent and RV campsites, there's usually plenty of space. Each campsite has a table, bench, and grill. Morefield Campground's campsites are situated on loop roads that extend through a high grassy canyon filled with oaks, native flowers, deer, and wild turkeys. Since the campground is only 4 miles into the park, the main attractions are about a 30 minute drive from the campground; however, several of the park's best hikes leave from Morefield Campground and climb to spectacular views of surrounding valleys and mountains. Adjacent to the campground is Morefield's full-service village, which features a breakfast cafe, gas station, RV dumping station, coin-operated laundry, complimentary showers, a gift shop, and grocery store.
