    Description

Also known as Point Santa Cruz or Its Beach, Lighthouse Field State Beach is home to California's first surfing museum located within the Mark Abbott Memorial Lighthouse on Lighthouse Point. The park and beach have a diverse amount of wildlife including seals, birds, monarch butterflies and the beach is frequented by locals for a place to let their dogs run.  Walk west cliff, picnic in the field, or watch the surfers tackle Steamers Lane. Due to the steep dropoff of the shoreline, which can create a dangerous undertoe, swimming is not recommended at this beach.
