Sitting at nearly 1,000 feet elevation overlooking Gerbode Valley, Hawk Campground is the most remote campground in the Marin Headlands. The small campground, which can be reserved completely, only has 3 camp sites that can accommodate up to 4 people each. Campers can hike or bike into the remote campground and park at either the Main Headlands Visitor Center (about a 4 mile trip one way) or the Tennessee Valley parking area (about a 3 mile trip one way). The campground is free, but reservations are required, and can be made by calling (415) 331-1540 from 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
