The beach at the access point at the end of 14th Avenue in Santa Cruz is known as Blacks Beach, but is part of Twin Lakes State Beach. During low tide, this section of the beach is connects to the adjoining beach at the Santa Cruz Harbor, but during high tide, the walk around the point is inaccessible. Portable bathrooms and a water faucet are the only amenities provided for beach goers, and they are both up on the bluff. When the swell is high, Blacks Beach is a great place for surfing. As with the other parts of Twin Lakes State Beach, fires are allowed during the summer months in the designated fire rings only.
