    Description

Alum Rock Park features 13 miles of multi use trails over 720 acres of beautiful, rugged terrain in Alum Rock Canyon at the foothills of the Diablo Mountain Range in east San Jose. Founded in 1872, Alum Rock Park is one of the oldest municipal parks in California, and from 1890 to 1932 was a nationally known health spa with 27 mineral springs, tea bath, restaurant, and more. Nowadays visitors can only see remnants of the springs and railroad that carted passengers from San Jose to the park, but can enjoy the nature, history, wildlife, and activities offered which include hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, and more.
